New Jersey headquartered Conair Corporation announces its acquisition of Franzus Company LLC, a leading purveyor of travel accessories, including personal care, security and convenience items.

Our latest acquisition is an ideal addition to the Conair family of products. Established in 1970, the Connecticut based Franzus Company LLC, is the leading purveyor of travel related accessories in North America, under the Franzus and TravelSmart brands. The company designs and distributes a variety of different travel items including power converters and adapters, luggage carts and tags and travel convenience items. Franzus products are sold through multiple channels of distribution including mass merchants, airport shops and newsstands, drugstores, catalogs, hardware stores, and online retailers.

Many industry firsts have come from Franzus, including a palm-sized hair dryer, palm-sized garment steamer and EZ reader large dial combination lock. Conair will use its heritage appliance expertise to expand the Franzus product lines. Plans to extend the market into Europe, where Conair is already the market leader in hair care appliances under its BaByliss brand, will further increase Conairs leadership position.
